By looking at the life experience and words of the wisdom of great personalities in our history, we can clearly see that involvement in education and acquiring useful knowledge is one of the most important aspects in our life.
The first revelation to the final Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him) was the word “Iqra” (Read). Almighty Allah has commanded our Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him) in Surah Al-‘Alaq to seek knowledge as He says: “Read in the name of your Lord Who created. He created man from a clot. Read and your Lord is the Most Honorable. Who taught by the pen. Taught man what he knew not.” (Qur’an 96:1-5).
It is a duty of every person in this world to seek useful knowledge and help others in this way so that they may gain success in both worlds by following the footsteps of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him) as he said: “Whoever follows a path in pursuit of knowledge, Allah makes his way easy to paradise.” (Narrated by Imam Bukhari)
There are so many great Muslim scientists in our history who taught generation after generation globally in different fields of the knowledge such as Al-Khwarizmi (Algoritmi) (780-850), Muslim mathematician and astronomer, Al-Farabi (Alpharabius) (870–950), Muslim philosopher and one of the pre-eminent thinkers of Islam in the Middle Ages, Ibn Sina (Avicenna) (980-1037), a great physician and philosopher. Ibn Rushd (Averroes), (1126-1198) and so many others.
It is the duty and responsibility of the community to educate the younger generation and assist them to be involved in learning and studying, because they are our future and if we are able to assist them today they will be able to chance the life of the people towards the happiness in the near future and make this world happier, (Can we say this better?) as Abu Nasr Al-Farabi said “If you want to see the future of the country, look at its youth”. The former South African President Nelson Mandela said: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
Unfortunately nowdays we see our youth and so many children, nationally and internationally, struggling in getting an education and as a result they are unable to build their futures through learning and studying in schools, colleges and universities.
Bearing in mind the difficult condition of those children and youth, Dr. Asadullah Karimov with the group of some professional educators were compelled to find a solution. With this great purpose, International Knowledge Foundation was established on 23 July 2020, centered at Christoburg, Centurion Pretoria, South Africa. The foundation is registered as a Non Profit Company (NPC), number 2020/579603/08 by the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission of South African Government at Pretoria city on Friday, 24 July 2020.
